Guest lecturers present cases and facilitate discussion of issues currently
facing managers of educational management organizations and corporate
training divisions. Case studies of high-performing corporate universities,
corporate training divisions and educational service corporations are
included.

This course examines leadership and management practices unique to managing
educational institutions. Topics include supervisory techniques; teacher
and staff evaluation; as well as the educational leader's role in providing
for a positive teaching/learning environment, ensuring efficient and
effective use of physical facilities, and seeing that student support
services meet student needs.
*Those who have been admitted to the School must inform the center director
of their intent to pursue the certificate and are eligible to receive
a graduate certificate in educational management upon:

completing required curriculum

satisfying all
certificate course prerequisites through practical experience or
related coursework

achieving a minimum
cumulative grade point average of 2.70 in the courses indicated

The above courses, when taken within the MBA program,
fulfill Illinois State Board of Education requirements for the Illinois
Administrative Certificate with the General Administrative Endorsement
(Type 75 Certificate). This endorsement is required for individuals
seeking school principal and related positions.
